HIKING
Clearly, we have a hiking section separated out from our other activities. Take one glance at the photos on
Our Story and you will see we love climbing mountains and exploring the outdoors.
Below you will find some of our favorite hikes separated out by difficulty. Green is the easiest, followed by intermediate Blue, and finally Black, which is for our crazy (athletic) friends. Click on the name of the links below and have fun exploring! We can't wait to hear about your adventures!
Before heading out on a trail, PLEASE read our tips for hiking safely.
-
Bring water and drink it! We aren't kidding - it's freaking DRY here!!
-
Wear sunscreen. Even on cloudy days.
-
Make sure to pack a snack. Hiking is hard and it's always good to have a little nourishment on the trail.
-
Altitude sickness is real. Check out this article to know the signs and symptoms. Altitude sickness can effect everyone differently but hydration and food can help you avoid getting sick.
-
Be aware of your surroundings. You are in the home of bear, mountain lions, snakes, moose, elk, coyote, etc. Know what to do if you encounter an animal on your hike.
-
Hike early - Colorado is know for afternoon thunderstorms rolling in about 1-4pm. The weather is extremely unpredictable so keep an eye to the sky and turn around if necessary.
-
Download the AllTrails App but know your GPS and cell service may be limited out in the wilderness.

If you are interested in completing a 14er, please contact us first. Mainly cause we want to join you but also cause we really want you to make it up and down the mountain in one piece. :)

For those of you who are curious, Colorado has 54 peaks rising 14,000 feet or higher (aka the 14er name). Climbing a 14er is often on the "Colorado bucket list" but it is NOT EASY. You need to be physically fit, ready to spend 8 to 12 hours of hiking up 1,000s of feet of elevation gain, acclimated to the elevation, ready to start the hike at 3am in the dark, and have past climbing experience. Take a look at Quandary and Mount Bierstadt if you are interested.
